ChartSet for iPhone and iPad
Email support@chartset.app and a person reads it. If a chart is rendering wrong, say which song and which key, and attach the original file if you can share it.
What you need
An iPhone or iPad running iOS 26.2 or later. ChartSet is built for iPad first, because that is what ends up on a music stand, but iPhone is fully supported. An Apple Pencil is optional and used for markup.
Getting charts in
- Import a PDF or image from Files, Photos, or the camera.
- Send a chart from another app with Share → ChartSet, or Open in ChartSet, including from Planning Center.
- Import ChordPro or bracketed inline-chord text. It becomes an ordinary chart, so transposing, setlists, and export all work the same way.
Multi-page charts
A multi-page PDF imports as one chart with all its pages. Review runs per page, with the totals shown in the header.
Checking the chords
After an import, ChartSet shows you what it found so you can confirm it before the chart goes into your library. Tap any chord to correct it, or tap an empty spot on the chart to add one it missed. Chords it could not read confidently are flagged rather than silently accepted.
This step matters more than it looks. A chart that transposes incorrectly mid-song is worse than one that never transposed at all.
Charts that cannot be transposed
Staff notation, handwriting ChartSet cannot read, and charts with no chords can still be kept as Reference · Original only. They work in your library, setlists, performance mode, Pencil markup, and export, but they cannot transpose or switch to Nashville numbers, because guessing would be worse than declining.
Transposing and Nashville numbers
Change the key from the chart's controls and the printed page stays exactly as it was. Only the chords are redrawn, in place. Switching to Nashville numbers works the same way, and switching back restores the letters.
Setlists and performance
Build a setlist, set a key per song, and start it. Performance mode gives the chart the full screen and collapses its controls out of the way. Swipe to turn pages and to move between songs. You can insert a blank page mid-set for scratch notes and mark it up, and keep it in the setlist or promote it to a normal chart.
Apple Pencil
Markup is a session, not a per-page mode. Your selected tool, color, and width stay put as you move through pages and songs, and ink is saved before the page changes.
Foot pedals
A Bluetooth page-turner or MIDI controller can drive Previous and Next. Set it up in Settings → Playback. For a keyboard-style pedal, pair it in iPad Settings first and set it to an Arrow or Page Up/Down mode, then use the press-to-test card in ChartSet to confirm it. Touch and swipe keep working whether or not a pedal is connected.
Something looks wrong on a chart
Send us the song name, the key you were in, what you expected, and what you saw. The original PDF or image is the most useful thing you can include, because we can replay the exact import. If you are on a TestFlight build with diagnostics enabled, Settings lets you export a diagnostic package to attach. It contains timings and event labels, never your chart content.
Before launch
ChartSet is in field testing and is not on the App Store yet. If you are testing a build and something breaks mid-service, tell us. Live-service failures outrank everything else on our list.
